AQAV is non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that is dedicated to improving the operational art of designing and installing audio visual technology. Engineered audio visual systems continue to become more complex and difficult to integrate. By focusing on the quality management of these systems, and of those who design and install them, we can benefit the AV industry and all its stakeholders: including clients and users of AV technology, AV designers and installers, equipment manufacturers, related construction and architectural firms, and the environment.

Add the AV9000 Specification into the language of your RFP. The checklists contained in the Specifications are compliant with the latest version of the AV9000 Standard and have been proven to be the most economic path in defining a defect-free AV system. They are, however, presented in the language of a checklist. The effectiveness will depend on the training, skill sets, experience and calibrated instrumentation of the persons performing the tests. For training and certification in the battery of tests contained in the checklists, check the website for details on obtaining CQT or CQD credentials, or contact us for certified individuals in your area.
COPQ - Cost of Poor Quality
in labor, the numbers that matter really build up. Everyone has his or her stories of “AV Disasters”.
Are you also aware that the Costs of Poor Quality (“COPQ”) are somewhat “hidden”, as we say in class, "hidden, yes, but certainly not invisible"? It is necessary that we quantify the results of our processes in order to continue to improve, cut costs, and improve the system performance for the Users.
COPQ calculator was designed to help quantify the COPQ. Its purpose is to create an analysis tool that can be used after each AV project. In this way, you can help determine the true cost of the project, and perhaps provide a useful mechanism for dealing with your price-conscious internal administration on the value of Quality Management.
Although the AV9000 Standard is written for, and in the language of, the AV Users, arguably the largest benefactor of compliance is the AV Company that adopts it.
Getting the actual numbers on things usually uncovers issues that go far beyond the scope one initially imagines. With AV Technology procurement costing over ten percent of a capital budget (not including real estate or electrical installation), and about half of that
